About The Line Ledger

An independent style desk with one test, thirteen reference pages and a rule about not pretending to be official.

kibbebodytypetest.com is an independent Kibbe body type test that maps your answers to the ten current Image Identities, with reference pages for the three retired 1987 types.

What this site is

The Line Ledger publishes a browser-based Kibbe body type test and a reference library for the types it can return. The test reads visual traits; the library explains what each identity means in clothes. Both are written for readers who want a starting point, not a verdict.

The site is editorial, not a styling service. There is no booking form, no personalised analysis and no claim that a quiz can replace a trained eye. The value is in the structure: a published method, a visible runner-up, and pages that say what a type is not.

Who writes it

The Line Ledger is run by a small independent editorial team. We do not publish invented author biographies, fake credentials, client lists or testimonials. Pages are bylined to the desk because the work is edited collectively; the method page is the receipt.

We are not image consultants and we do not claim to certify anyone’s identity. If you need a professional analysis, the appropriate route is a qualified image consultant or David Kibbe’s own studio — not this site.

How the pages are edited

  • Source first. Type descriptions are checked against the published framework and independent summaries. Sources and access dates are listed on the method page.
  • Wording is ours. We do not reproduce the 1987 questionnaire or passages from the 2025 book. Definitions, notes and diagrams are original.
  • Numbers are traceable. The only numbers in the test are question counts, trait weights and the 5 ft 6 in height rule. The weights are published in full.
  • No ranking. The thirteen types are presented in family order, not as a beauty hierarchy. No type is described as better, more attractive or more desirable.
  • No medical claims. Nothing here is medical, nutritional or mental-health advice.

Independence

The Line Ledger is independent and unofficial. It is not affiliated with David Kibbe, his estate, or any certified Kibbe organisation. The site is not sponsored by David Kibbe, his publisher, or any brand mentioned in the reference pages. There are no paid placements in the type library and no affiliate links in the test. If that changes, the change will be disclosed on this page before it goes live.

Corrections and updates

The current edition was published on 2026-10-26. Substantive changes are dated here.

  • 2026-10-26: First edition. Eighteen-question test, ten current identities, three retired reference pages, method and sources published.

To report an error, email editor@kibbebodytypetest.com. Include the page and the sentence; we will check the source and date the correction if it changes the page.

What we will not do

  • Claim an official affiliation with David Kibbe or any certification body.
  • Publish an accuracy-percentage claim or a made-up precision score.
  • Rank bodies, promise a weight outcome, or frame a type as a problem to fix.
  • Store quiz answers on a server or sell reader data.
  • Use celebrity photos to imply that a reader shares a celebrity’s identity.
